Development of International Handball
- 1880’s Several Ireland vs America contests were held on both sides of the Atlantic.
- 1924 Irish handball Council affiliated to the International Amateur Athletic Association. Court Handball Commission set up to legislate for handball in all countries.
- 1928-32 England, Scotland and Ireland took part in the Tailteann Games.
- 1929 Spanish players held an exhibition match in Dublin.
- 1932 Irish players travelled to Liverpool for exhibition games.
- 1951 Bob Kendler formed the United States Handball Association.
- 1955 Three American players toured Ireland giving exhibition matches.
- 1964 Five countries competed in First World Handball Championships in New York
- 1967 Second World Handball Championships held in Toronto.
- 1970 Third World Handball Championships held in Dublin.
- 1974 International team took part in Irish Handball Council Jubilee games in all four provinces.
- 1980 RTE TOP ACE competition was opened to international players and screened in the USA
- 1981 First official Irish team competed in USHA Junior Championships.
- 1982 The USHA reorganizes and moves to Tucson, AZ, under the leadership of Carl Porter.
- 1984 Fourth World Handball Championships held in Dublin and Clare, Ireland.
- 1985 First USHA Pro Stop is played outside the US for the first time, in Quebec, Canada.
- 1986 Fifth World Handball Championships held in Canada.
- 1988 Sixth World Handball Championships held in Australia.
- 1988 International Millennium Tournament held in Dublin, Ireland.
- 1991 Seventh World Handball Championships held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
- 1994 Eighth Waterford Crystal World Handball Championships held in Clare, Dublin, Kildare and Meath in Ireland.
- 1995 First European One-Wall Handball Championships held in Wales.
- 1996 Second European One-Wall Handball Championships held in Roscommon, Ireland.
- 1997 Ninth Waterford Crystal World Handball Championships held in Winnipeg, Canada.
- 1999 First European One-Wall Youth Championships held in Dungarvan, Ireland.
- 2000 Tenth Waterford Crystal World Handball Championships held in Chicago, USA.
- 2001 USHA Pro Stop is played in Juarez, Mexico.
- 2002 Second European One-Wall Youth Championships held in Maubeuge, France.
- 2003 Eleventh World Handball Championships held in Ireland.
- 2006 Twelfth Waterford Crystal World Handball Championships held in Edmonton and Sherwood Park, Alberta Canada.
